Our Journey

Origins of IPRAY House

IPRAY House began in 2021, when a small group of Wayne families came together with a heartfelt and simple vision: to create a warm, welcoming neighborhood space where people could gather — not only to pray, but to learn, connect, and grow as a community. What started around kitchen tables and small living-room conversations gradually became a mission shaped by generosity, hope, and a shared desire to strengthen the bonds of our town.

A Welcoming Space for All

While the organization is rooted in Islam, our purpose has always been broader: to build a place where families of all backgrounds feel welcomed, respected, and connected. We envisioned an environment where neighbors could learn from one another, where children could grow with strong values, and where community life could flourish in a positive and supportive setting.

From Vision to Milestone

As more families gathered around this effort, our shared dream continued to take shape. Volunteers carried the work forward with sincerity and determination. In early 2024, through the unwavering support of our donors and community members, IPRAY House reached a meaningful milestone with the purchase of the property at 225 Colfax Road.

This step gave our community a sense of rootedness and allowed us to begin exploring the possibility of establishing a mosque and community center in Wayne. We have since submitted an application to the Township to use the property as a place of worship and community center, and we are currently moving through the formal review and approval process.

A Vision of Unity in Wayne

Our vision for this space is rooted in unity. In a world that can feel increasingly polarized, we believe our town can be a social mosaic — a place where people of different cultures, traditions, and beliefs come together with dignity, harmony, and mutual respect. The center we hope to build reflects that belief: a thoughtfully designed space that supports cross-cultural learning, youth engagement, community gatherings, and programs that encourage service, citizenship, and neighborly connection.

Investing in the Next Generation

We also see this effort as a long-term investment in the next generation. Wayne is home to many families who seek positive, constructive environments for their children — environments where mentorship, cultural literacy, and community involvement can take root. Through future programs and events, we hope to offer opportunities that help young people grow with confidence and a sense of belonging.

A Home for Openness and Togetherness

Above all, we want IPRAY House to embody the values of openness, hospitality, and togetherness. We welcome all residents to view this project as a shared community space — not just a building, but a gathering place; not just a center for Muslims, but a resource for everyone; not simply a mosque, but a home for unity and peace.

Continuing Our Journey Together

By the grace of Allah (s.w.t.), the Almighty God, and with the continued support of our neighbors, volunteers, and friends, our journey continues. We are moving forward with transparency and respect as we work with township professionals through each phase of the approval process. With every step, we remain committed to creating a space that reflects the best of Wayne: a community of families, a community of values, and a community of hope.

Our journey is still unfolding — and we warmly invite you to be part of it.
